Hello. I have recently switched to OVO from octopus to take advantage of the heat pump tariff add on. But I can't see anywhere that the add on is active. Perhaps it is running in the back ground but I have no way of knowing. Has anybody got any experience of this?

Check you’re eligible for Heat Pump Plus
 

Right now, we’re offering Heat Pump Plus to OVO customers who:

  • Have a compatible heat pump, or bought their heat pump through our partner Heat Geek. Heat Pump Plus is currently compatible with:
    • Connected Vaillant aroTHERM 3 or aroTHERM Plus heat pumps, from 2016 onwards.
    • Connected Viessmann Vitocal 150-A or 151-A air source heat pumps.
    •  
    • Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan heat pumps from 2015 onwards connected to a MELCloud account with a wifi adapter.
  • Have a smart meter that sends half-hourly readings. If you don’t have one, you can have it installed through OVO at no extra cost.
  • Not with OVO? Get a quote in just 2 minutes.

You can check if you’re eligible here. If not, you can still register your interest. We’ll be partnering with other heat pump manufacturers soon, and will let you know when you’re eligible.

1 Actual sum is £247.86. When you add Heat Pump Plus to your plan, your home energy rate will stay the same, but the energy consumed by your heat pump will be charged at an effective rate of 15p per kWh (thanks to payment of your Heat Pump Plus credit). The £245 saving is based on an air source heat pump with a UK average Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (or efficiency rating) of 2.8 and an annual consumption of 2609 kWh with the Heat Pump Plus add-on compared to OVO's average SVT rate of 24.50 per kWh. Actual savings will vary depending on your heat pump usage, efficiency rating and the cost per kWh of your standard home energy tariff.

Heat Pump Plus is a new product, and we're currently trialling compatibility with new manufacturers. Availability is currently limited to the first 100 customers with eligible Viessmann and Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan heat pumps who sign up. This is so we can review this add-on, and make improvements. There is no limit on Vaillant heat pump customers. Please see terms and conditions for more information.
