And it’s only taken me less than 20 seconds to break OVO Energy Tracker in the app! That’s a new record for me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Feel free to change the topic title later of course, but I couldn’t resist a joke. This is a fairly simple bug, but I’ll bug template it anyway. :)

What’s the problem?

Blastoise managed to get himself booted out of OVO Energy Tracker in under 20 seconds by attempting to update the Energy Spotlight settings in the OVO Energy app

How did he smash up our stuff?

  1. Get excited about OVO Energy Tracker coming back to the OVO Energy app
  2. Launch the app and login via biometrics. Once CodePush catches up that is!
  3. Tap the OVO Energy Tracker related option from the app dashboard
  4. Tap the option to update the Energy Spotlights settings
  5. Choose any random options in the wizard
  6. Complete the wizard

What should happen when Tim does this?

Tim should go back to Energy Spotlights

What chaos did Blastoise discover instead?

The evil SkyNet Blastoise got booted out of the feature and sent back to the app dashboard instead. Muhahahahahaha!

Any other notes?

Yup. Blastoise used Totodile for this bug as usual, with the OVO Energy app running v12.2.0 and CodePush v271. Hot off the press too!

Finding bugs in the new feature already, @Blastoise186:bug:

Great spot - have already raised this one to the team to look into. Keeping them busy and catching those bugs as usual - keep up the good work!

Yup!

I’ve come across some more possible bugs as well. However, one or two of them are ones that I consider too minor, so I’m probably going to ignore them in favour of more interesting bugs.

Things like the “Moderate” text being ever so slightly higher in the Carbon Intensity box than it should be are one example. Sure, it does look a tiny bit out of place, but it’s only a very small cosmetic thing and it doesn’t really break anything so it’s something that I consider a P4 Probably not gonna fix this one, ever. That sort of thing isn’t usually worth it.

Likewise, leftover strings and references to Energy Spotlights are also (mostly) on my ignore list. As far as I can tell, they’ve either been left there intentionally or are already planned for removal in a future update.

What’s the verdict with these Greenlight bugs you spotted on it’s release, @Blastoise186?

All fixed now?

If you’re submitting a list @Blastoise186 you could add that this has been incorrect right from the start. I’ve never used gas for water heating btw I used to have an immersion heater, now I have the heat pump. My only use of gas is for the hob. I have mentioned this as feedback but to no avail.

Ok… So should we suddenly turn this into an OVO Greenlight App Bug Megathread?

Yep, the original issue is fixed now and I can’t reproduce it anymore.

As for your issue @juliamc … Let me call on @Jess_OVO for that. :)

Actually… Julia, did you remember to update your Home Profile settings after you had the heat pump installed? If you didn’t, that might explain why it’s not being picked up, as OVO Greenlight needs to know you’ve got one so it can keep an eye out.

If only that was the answer @Blastoise186 ! I’ve updated it over and over with various answers to ‘have I got a water heater?’ (that question was changed to ‘have I got an electric water heater’ after I sent my first feedback but made no difference) and for how I heat  my home by selecting ‘heat pump’ then ‘electricity’, I even went back to ‘gas’ to see if had an effect. I’ve tried changing the profile on the app and on MyOVO. No difference.

After each change I’ve waited a few days/weeks to see what difference it made. As you can see I still apparently use most gas for heating water, which I would only be able do by boiling it in a saucepan on the hob !!!

Sorry to hear this ones still an issue, @juliamc.

Just to let you know I’ve reminded the Carbon Insights team of this bug and they have added it to their worklist to get fixed. Do pop back with any changes you notice with the gas hot water figure (guessing you don’t boil that many saucepans!)
