OVO states "Fair pricing - we don't offer better deals to new customers", but that's not true!

Joined about a year ago. Now being asked to renew. In view of OVO claim that better deals aren't offered to new customers, can I assume my existing deal will therefore simply carry over if I renew, as, implicitly, it can't be worse? In which case, what is the point of 'renewal' at all then?

I MIGHT be wrong on this but I believe what is meant is your tariff you choose to renew with will be at the same price a new customer would be offered, therefore better deals are not offered to new customers :)
