Thanks a lot for your email. I know about the hold, The British gas informed us that we need to send them some documents to prove our address, and I did that and they have informed us they are going to drop the objection. My question is that I received another email from you to send you the Meter reading. However, when I enter the site there is no way I can submit as the application is on hold and we have until 18 May to send you the meter. And also would you please inform us which date of the meter we should send you? the meter from the date we moved in or now?

To get more information about your switch, I'd recommend giving us a ring (0330 303 5063), dropping us an email (email@example.com)

with your account number, full name and DoB.
Your opening meter reading should ideally be taken on the day you switch over to us, so as up to date as possible. If British gas were the incumbent energy supplier when you moved in, they'll need the reading from the date you moved in as they were supplying the property at this point. As long as they have this, we'll send them your first reading with us, and they'll need to create a bill from the date you moved in to the date you left them.
