Our Liberty 100 meter has started beeping for some reason. There is a code of E1. What does this mean? We also have a message about credit and cost, but we pay by monthly DD.
Can anybody out there please tell us how to stop this beeping???

Causes of this beeping is:
- Low credit on a prepayment meter (which OVO don’t provide, indicating an issue)
- The front cover of the meter being loose, breaking a magnetic seal triggering the alert sounds
- Excessive magnetic fields in the vicinity, which have the same effect as the breaking of the magnetic seal mentioned above.
In order to rule out a tampering or safety issue, a beeping Secure Liberty 100 or 110 electricity smart meter should be treated as an urgent same day appointment.
You can help diagnose this by looking at the appearance of the meter: is the cover loose, is the metal seal at the bottom missing or broken? Have this info ready when you call.
