How do I stop OVO offering me a smart meter?

Is anyone else like me, not able to get a smart meter because I live in an old block of flats where the meters are in the coal hole without a wi fi signal? It's irritating to keep receiving messages to do something that's not possible.

Having a meter location in a cellar used to be a problem. It had nothing to do with internet/WiFi access, but was due to the lack of a 3G mobile phone signal.

However, the newer SMETS2 meters which started being installed in Southern and Central GB last month have a number of different communications options. These include a Mesh network which uses other Smart Meters in the area to reach a Smart Meter Network mast.
