How can charities help and support those in financial difficulty pay for their energy usage?

I work for an advice agency in the Outer Hebrides. Many folk are being placed in real difficulties, some pre payment and others direct debit and almost all ex SSE customers, now OVO. How can I arrange payments from charitable sources to go onto prepayment cards and / or  directly into someones energy account?

Thanks for this post, @Brian Whitington - we’ll reach out to you directly, to get more info from you and advise on specifics.

What we’re already doing:

Please have a look at this page detailing our OVO Hardship fund.

Also have a read of our Coranavirus FAQs.

Lastly here’s a handy page detailing what we can do if you need debt and energy assistance

We already work with charities to support these commitments, such as the Citizens Advice Bureau and the Centre for Sustainable Energy There’s also Step Change and we’ve team up with Tully to help our members.

Take care and keep safe,
Tim
