Can OVO Take Green Deal Loan customers for Electricity yet?

I got the solar panels installed and a Green Deal loan, sadly this got me tied to Scottish Power and later SSE, but I'd like to move to a smaller supplier.

Can OVO take over my Green Deal account?

Thanks.

From your link:

Yes, but only to energy suppliers that participate in the Green Deal programme. Your Green Deal is transferable between those suppliers as it is a fixed amount.”

So, I searched to see if Ovo ever offered the Green Deal.

From this search it seems that Ovo participated in the pre-Green Deal negotiations:

...but I can find no evidence that Ovo took it any further.

They aren't taking on the loan as I understand it, it was explained to me that I have a loan and I pay it back through my electricity bill. If it is as you describe that the supplier pays the loan and recoups that from me, that changes things somewhat, but I imagine it can't be like that.

it was https://www.uswitch.com/green-deal/#step7 I refer to, basically wanting to change supplier for electric they have to be a member of the scheme, my question is wheher or not they are - I suppose.

It’s difficult to imagine any energy buyer willingly adopting your loan.

I do not intend this as a criticism of your credit worthiness.

And I doubt our government would force then to adopt loans they did not evaluate and approve.

But why would you want to change who pays you for your solar energy?

My FiT account is with E.ON while my current energy supply contract is with OVO.

You do not have to buy your energy from your energy customer.
