Hi,

I applied and recieved a confirmation email on Wednesday 16th October 2019 at 2:37pm.

The email says that OVO will get back to me within five working days but I’ve not heard anything from OVO.

What’s going on OVO? Has anyone else had this problem?

I got the discount last year.

 

I received a confirmation email for my application almost immediately and was notified my application was successful within a few days. I am expecting the credit to my account within 6 weeks.

Hi Amaryllis I had the same problem messaged them on face book and was told they had sent me a email 3days after I applied which I did not receive which seems strange ? hoping now this wont affect my discount for all on line account

What I find most confusing here, is that I’ve had a rejection email from OVO, with the reason that I  “didn't meet the requirements set by the industry regulator OFGEM. You can see their requirements here.”

Only to click the link and see that I meet several of the requirements...as stated in my application. 
 

Of course, the invitation to reapply if I felt the decision was wrong was offered to me, but considering the broader group is based on a first-come, first-served basis, that’s pushed me to the back of the queue.

Always worth having another go. Some criteria is confusing and says if you get X and you also get Y or have G Some of it looks fallacious in my case Income related ESA Support Group for example it says yes but you must also have or be getting so and so, one of which is enhanced disability premium, then if you go to the governments website about disability premiums and it clearly says you will be getting enhanced disability premium automatically if you are on Income related ESA Support Group, which to my mind make the whole bit about you must also have or be getting moot because if you get Income related ESA Support Group you are in receipt of Enhanced disability Premium. So worth taking a closer look to see if you slipped up by not ticking something that for some reason is illogically separated. The one I pointed out emanates with OFGEM and not OVO. My guess is they don’t understand everything about the Social Security System.

Hi all, we are not seeing any other reports of this still being an issue and are receiving applications via the website link, so it’s definitely working.  

 

Hopefully you’ve all managed to register your applications now.  Please let us know you are still having issues.

Despite clearing cache/cookies and using various browsers/platforms/devices I was still unable to get past “Next” even this morning, however a member of OVO staff kindly completed the application with me over the phone so at least it’s done!

 

Did the same here.

 

OVO don’t seem very on it with their tech - though the call centre staff were very helpful.

Please could someone who has been successful elaborate (which browser, whether logged in to OVO etc)

 I used Chrome, wasn’t logged in. If you are still having problems I would try clearing your cache and cookies for the last 24 hours at least, or make it longer if you don’t get to this message until after 5.30pm (or whatever time you got your email yesterday) to be on the safe side. Anything in your cache could be causing the problem to return.

 

If there is still no joy, or you don’t/can’t do the above, perhaps try using a new browser on a piece of hardware you haven’t tried using yet...opera on an ipod, for example...or maybe a partner’s phone, etc. Good luck :)

We deployed a fix around 6.30pm last night and as you can see from the thread some of you have been able to complete it without issue which is good news.  For those of you still to complete it, please clear your cache (especially if you had beeing trying multiple times through the day) and try again.

Sorry to keep on I am obsessing a bit, I am really annoyed that I messed up my application, but now understand how it happened in your FAQ about Income related ESA Support Group, you say yes but you must also get one of the following and one of the extra qualifying elements is the Enhanced Disability Premium, OK. If you look at the Government's website you will see that If you are in Income related ESA Support Group you automatically receive the Enhanced Disability Premium https://www.gov.uk/disability-premiums-income-support/eligibility. So, if you receive Income Related ESA Support group you therefore are eligible automatically for the broader group WHD without having to further identify your receipt of a disability premium.

 

I have just made a second application and changed my response to the Enhanced Disability Premium question in light of the information from the Governments website.

Hi I just got it to work but I think I messed up my application annsweing no to two of the questions where they should have been yes one was the

Enhanced disability premium question I should have answered yes as it is a component of the Support Group ESA and the other was the question on free prescriptions because of long-term illness. Is there a way I can put this right?

I just made a second application which went through, I hope it doesn’t mess thing up further.

Hi It seems many of us are having issues with the web page for accessing this discount, I am starting to stress now with out this help in the winter my situation is difficult to say the least. I have tried diffferent browsers and cleared my cache, and still not getting beyond the name and address page.
