I completely understand your frustration, @stobbsie, it must be a worry!

You wouldn't be able to turn the electric off at the meter, so it sounds like the fuse box may be outside too. You would need to contact an electrician to get that moved.

If the meter needs to be moved, you would need to call the DNO (Distribution Network Operator), they'll give you a quote and date to move the meter. You can find out who they are here: https://www.energynetworks.org/info/faqs/who-is-my-network-operator.html.

We would then charge an additional cost of £106 to install another meter. As soon as you have an appointment with the DNO you'll need to call our team to arrange an appointment and make the payment. They're available on 0330 303 5063 Monday-Friday 8am-6pm.

@stobbsie speak to your regional supplier and express the need for the need to have constant electric. If you book it with them then OVO should be able to refit the meter once all of the mains work has been complete. It will be tricky to ensure everyone can attend at the same time but sounds like it's needed.

You can find your DNO here: https://www.ovoenergy.com/guides/energy-guides/dno.html

Her electric will be off during the work so think about where she would be able to go during this time
