Where is my final statement from Economy Energy?


We’re is my final statement from economy? Still waiting, I’ll be taking legal action as I am owed money,, be soon on to me if I owed them money.?????

Hi @Richy23,

If you've not received your final statement yet, it might be worth getting in touch with the team. At this point, the vast majority of accounts that came over to us from Economy Energy have received their bill and had a refund.

If you left Economy Energy before they collapsed, their administrators (Grant Thornton) will be finalling all previous accounts and issuing your final statement. Once they've done this, they'll also confirm the final balance to OVO, and we'll be able to issue your refund.

If you've got the bill but haven't had your refund, then please make sure you get in touch and pass it onto us so we can confirm the final balance as soon as possible. If you haven't received anything yet, the likelihood is that the administrators haven't processed this yet. However, it could be worth checking with us too in case for any reason you've missed it or they haven't sent it. Please give us a ring (0330 303 5063), drop us an email (hello@ovoenergy.com) or send us a message on Facebook (m.me/ovoenergy) with your account number, full name and DoB.

Thanks for keeping us updated, @Richy23.

This is an unprecedented situation, in normal circumstances 6 weeks would be enough time for the validation to have gone through and your refund would have been issued.

Unfortunately Economy Energy went into administration, therefore things are taking a bit longer than we would like, we have done our upmost to try and move things along as quickly as possible.

I phoned them yesterday, they just said that they havnt recieved my final statement off economy yet.
Hi I'm am still waiting for my final bill from economy energy. Surely 8 months is enough time !!!!!! I have emailed economy.energy@uk.gt.com. 3 times over the past few months. No reply. Called 0333 1030 104 line rings choose option goes dead. Nothing. Called ovo energy nothing they can do without final bill. I have worked out using meter reads that they owe me in region of £600. They more than doubled my DD in last few months without warning was in the middle of formal complaint when they went bust. How do I get my money back. Surely waiting over 8 months if far too long. Please help. Thank you

@tammyp that's so frustrating that the administrators have not replied to your emails. It's them we will be waiting on to provide your final bill, so we can then provide you with any refund/credit you are owed.

This is the process we agreed with the administrators when we took over EE customers, so we can't action anything until they've provided that. Unfortunately, we have a number of customers in the same position as you, and trust me we are just as frustrated, but it's in their hands to provide this information so we can then help you.

It doesn’t seem to matter if the Administrators at EE provide the credit details their ex-customers are due, Ovo Energy refuse to acknowledge receipt and pay what they are due.  Administrators sent Ovo information at beginning of month with regard to refund due, a copy of which I subsequently e-mailed a copy to Ovo of 4 days later to ensure they had received it.  Ovo claim to have received nothing from either of us, very convenient when Ovo are due hundreds of pound!!

It sounds like the administrators haven’t sent us all the details we need to process your refund, @TonyB74, and the email address you’ve contacted us on may not be linked to your account which is why we can’t find your email.

 

We’d be happy to take a look into this for you, send us a message on Facebook or Twitter with your name, DoB, EE account number and email address. If you don’t use social media, try the team again but be sure to include the details the team will need to find your account - their email address is hello@ovoenergy.com. 

@Eva_OVO , no disrespect meant but that has to be the most useless piece of advice ever given, do you not think I have spent the past few weeks contacting OVO by e-mail and telephone on this subject ?  Apparently my case has been raised to the highest level and I have an ‘unnamed’ case handler looking into this matter.  Despite this a timescale for when an update will be received cannot be given by OVO.  No surprise there as you currently hold money owed to me. 

Unfortunately based on the fact OVO have so far been incapable of ensuring that something as simple as my address is correct, despite having been informed on numerous occasions over the last 10 months via phone and e-mail of this, my hopes of receiving the money I am due anytime soon are low.  This is in addition to the fact that I keep receiving communications from yourselves with regard to a gas account which was settled in May, my outstanding credit balance is to do with electricity. 

Obviously customer service is not something OVO have any regard for, in that your company has a lot in common with Economy Energy!!!

I apprentice your frustration, @TonyB74, but we are here to help and @Eva_OVO was giving an answer based on the limited information we have regarding your account. 

If this is with the complaints team, I can assure you this is being worked as quickly as possible. 

I really hope that this is resolved as soon as possible!
