Why can't I give monthly readings on My OVO?


I'm a new customer and started a month ago. Having given opening readings, Ovo have now asked for first month usage details. But when I click the links - or go in from a fresh start - I end up with a welcome page saying Ovo 'will' start to supply on 19 Feb. There is no acknowledgement that I have been with them for a month. Today was the final date for giving first month's figures, so it looks like I am going to start on the wrong foot for the future. How can I get the details into Ovo's system?

It looks like someone@OVO hasn't re-visited your personal Home Page to bring up all the features. I think this usually happens after your first fortnight with OVO (ie once the 14-days statutory cooling off period ends).

Don't worry too much about having missed an exact date. There's always a bit of estimating going on within OVO's algorithms in the first 2 or 3 months whilst it learns your usage patterns.

I suggest you email your readings to hello@ovoenergy.com and make sure you give your full address so they can confirm who you are. Not only does the use of email provide you with a date-time stamp of when you sent it, but Customer Services will be goaded into enabling the rest of your online features because they will want to avoid you sending more readings by email!

You have asked me for a meter reading but there is nowhere in my OVO page or on the drop down at the left for me to submit my reading. I wanted to be able to submit monthly readings and be eligible for £50 discount as a self service customer, but your online ovo page doesn't enable me to do this.

I've received an email asking me for meter readings. I read the meters and went online to submit them but that function seems to be disabled. What do I do?

I’ve finally managed to get my login after over a week having moved into my property, I went to input my meter readings on my account but it says I’m on a smart meter which I’m not!

Send the readings by email to hello@ovoenergy.com and ask them to update the record to show that you don't have Smart Metering. The date/time stamp on the email will act as proof of you having provided the necessary readings.

Such anomalies are not uncommon when starting with a new account or changing address. OVO don't make the account fully active at the outset. There is a 21 day statutory cooling-off period (Consumer Credit Act) which assists to protect you against fraud and ID theft issues. Please don't be concerned.
I've received an email requesting first reading. However, even though I have the Ovo app, the is no facility to do this. Meter readings will not highlight under the menu bars

Hi @Louise Perry You can't provide the meter reading from either the OVO App or the IHD connected to a Smart Meter.

You actually need to go to the meter itself and take the reading there.

Ask here again if you have any difficulty doing this.
I have a new account. Currently only paying for electric but gas it about to be switched over too.
ive received and email asking for meter readings. When I go on the app it directs me to the website and the website has nowhere for me to enter readings. If I open menu on left hand side the choices are faded out and I can’t select them

Hello, I was required to submit my meter readings but on MyOVO account everything is greyed out -so basically I cannot use my online account. How can this problem be solved?
