I’ve been testing out a few more possibilities with battery storage over the last few days, in particular to match the recent requests to shift peak power use.
I only have one system to experiment with but I’m convinced that most inverter/controller sets must have something like this.
I’ve been able to set a series of charge priority times which automatically make best use of external power available (solar PV etc) at certain times. That then leaves energy available from battery storage when it’s really needed - at peak demand times. This seems particularly useful in winter months.
Anyone else have any experience to share?

I think you will find people with battery storage and Solar Pannell's are not allowed to sign up to Shift and Save…..I think I read in the requirement's to qualifies

With modern green tech, we should be looking to reduce peak demand where we can anyway

“ there are no such restrictions on the 3rd party initiatives from others like Loop and Hugo” sorry I have no ideas on 3rd party but I am parity shore it was in the T&C of Ovo shift and save though. according to my phone app it tells me that between 88 and 98 % of my eclectic is used at night the app is taking its data straight from the meter same data as Ovo use...but dont give that info pulled from the data set they get.

I agree there ...I am recently retired and have been planning how to cut my bills for the last 4 years (before all this panicking) as on pension now….. best thing I got to control the electric bill was Home management system from Hubitat. (Others are available) which manages Ziggbee Toyoa and lots of other home devices and switches every single light bulb is Ziggbee compatible .every single power out let is ziggbee controlled Ipads phones and all portable devices go into a single mulit usb charger again controlled with habutat (doing away with all those usb individual chargers Phantom devices) timed to charge on cheap rate. every room has a PMI (the house alarm) which i reverse engendered (with a friend who is a alarm engineer and installer) so when house empty its the alarm when house occupied the PMI’s become senders to turn on or off the lights etc (as the room is used and un used) . Home alarms are always on and in alarm mode if the pick up movement sound the alarm bell but when in home occupied it still detects movement but dos not sound the alarm bell but now tells Habitat a room is occupied and it can power up the device’s in that room….The advantage I found with the Habitat is that it is not cloud based controler so if the internet goes down you still have full control of the house systems un like Google home etc also the reaction times of the in home is much faster than sending the info to the cloud and getting the return command back using this system to time shift to off peak has moved my electric usage between 80odd % to 98 Odd percent.
Last note I had the house rewired about 8 years ago and regret not having a 12/24 volt ring installed at the same time...easy to look back with hindsight
