How do I set up a new account from the date I move into my new home?

We are moving house so I have found out how to cancel the account on the old house but I cannot see a box on the new account as to when we need the energy from. Am a bit concerned we will cut of the current owners supply too early. Please advise.
I only wanted to transfer the account over to the new address.
