How do I get a bill from my move in date onwards?

HI there

I moved into my new apartment on 15th March, and i've been sorting my suppliers out.

I have been sent a bill from OVO going from January till April!

How do I get a bill just for the time I moved in? As i'm not going to pay for a previous tenants usage.

Did you get the account set up in your name, @athakrar? If you haven't - you'll need to do this. You can do this here: https://www.ovoenergy.com/moving-home.
As soon as we've got an account for you, the statement can be amended so you're charged for what you've used.

If you did get the account set up in your name, you'll need to get in touch with the team. Give the team a quick call or email about this. They're available on 0330 303 5063/hello@ovoenergy.com.

I moved into a new property about a month ago that was already on OVO and called to set up my account and provide the move in date meter readings. I am currently on the standard rolling tariff (no contract for 12 or 24 months or anything) and have not set up a direct debit. 

 

Question 1:

I have a Smart meter which records both Gas and Electricity, in the OVO portal under ‘Usage’ it has details of this from September but nothing from October. I remember telling OVO over the phone they could take meter readings every 30 minutes if they wished so not sure why Oct just says ‘there is no data available for this period right now’. Does this update any more regularly than monthly?

 

Question 2:

I am expecting to receive a bill via email or post to pay, but not sure when this will come through and what each billing period is. Could someone let me know the date I will get a bill and how often they come? I would also appreciate knowing how I can pay it when it does arrive(eg card over the phone/cheqe/BACS)

Your smart meter can send us readings every half an hour, but they might be set up on a monthly schedule. Email us to get this changed, and to specify your preferred billing date: hello@ovoenergy.com
