New to OVO - why have I been given an estimated bill?

Hi!

I have just switched to OVO for my gas and electricity. When going through a comparison website, I said that I wanted an account that took meter readings and would pay for my exact usage. I have now got a letter through saying that I have an estimated bill that will be a regular payment of £60 a month. I would like to switch my account so that I pay exactly what I use. Do I need a smart meter?

Also. I recorded the meter readings when I moved in. Do I need to submit these before my current meter readings?

Hey CharRobey,

The Moderators are only there to step in to help moderator conversations between users. Our main role is to make sure topics are tagged correctly, that titles are worded so that they’re searchable and to make sure users are giving the right info to each other.

The platform itself has been designed so that other users are able to interact with other users to offer advice and help them solve their queries.

If you have any account specific queries (that requires an OVO advisor to look into your account), you’ll need to direct these to the Customer Care team via Facebook, Twitter, phone or email. Please select which channel you’d prefer below;
