Updated on 10/08/20: New Plan Zero badges and ranks!

As of August 2020, we’ve totally revamped our rank and badge mechanics, to align them with our Plan Zero mission

Why Plan Zero forum ranks and badges?

We believe that a committed community of members who share similar values and a collective desire to do their bit to tackle the climate crisis can make a difference. This online support forum is a perfect space to mobilise a zero carbon community

Ranks:

Carbon Cutter: Contribute to our community, and you make it stronger. You’ll progress from a ‘Newbie’ rank, to ‘Carbon Cutter’.

Carbon Catcher: Answer member questions, and you help us get one step closer to Zero Carbon. You ARE a ‘Carbon Catcher’!

Plan Zero Hero: These are elite, super users. To get to this point, you need to provide lots of ‘best answers’, get ‘likes’ for your helpful comments and content, and be a Plan Zero presence.

Badges:

You will now only earn badges if it means something. If you’ve added value, you’ll be inline for recognition.

Money Saver: If you've earned the 'Money Saver' badge, you’ve helped community members to reduce their energy usage, live more sustainable lives, and get us to Zero Carbon!

Community builder: To get this badge you have to make unique contributions help to build this Plan Zero community. They can’t just be sharing of your opniions. It takes more then that to be a true community builder…

EV volunteer: If you've earned the 'EV volunteer' badge - nice one! You've posted helpful content or supported others with their EV questions. Keep on rollin to zero emissions!

Top volunteer: You are a Plan-Zero-supporting, puzzle-solving, member-helping hero - you're a top community volunteer - hats off to you!

Plan Zero Legend: Wowza - getting this means you've made some great contributions helping members to live more sustainable lives, supporting our 'Plan Zero' goal to zero carbon emissions!

And more…..

Great idea with the badges etc. As a scout leader I'm all for badges!

Incentive is always good. I'll yab on about anything so getting rewarded for offering good advice is welcome!

Back in my less than professional days i had many a good night out in Bristol. I'll just take the tea now 😊

Glad you love a badge Aadil! And guess what, great news, you are our first user to win a badge on the forum! There's plenty more where that came from, so I wonder when you will win the next one and if anyone else will beat you to it!

A big thank you for all your contribution so far, we really appreciate it! Keep up the good work!

Darran 🙂

Emma, congratulations on winning the power up badge!

It's great to see some of our most engaged users being rewarded for their contributions and for sharing more about themselves so we can all get to know each other better!! :)

For those that have yet to win a badge, make sure you have completed your profile, you never know that may well help you earn something in return......... 🆒

Well done again Emma, make sure any customer service questions, you post them here first...!

Thanks

You're getting me very confused. I joined this forum yesterday. Today an email tells me "You have a message". I click on the link and a page tells me "You're not authorised to view this page". So I google search for Ovo Forum. Then it won't accept my password. I manage to find an access that wants my User name plus password. This gets me onto this page.
Then I look at the URL at the top which includes the words "anything-but-energy-25". Does that mean you don't want discussions about "energy" topics?
I'm an OAP so I don't want anything that's difficult.

Hi Yorick

To be fair that does sound confusing. We will have a look into why you saw that error message.

The email would have been to alert you that you had received a private message from me. You should have been able to click on the link and be taken straight to the message, but it sounds like this is where you had issues.

The URL I included in my message was supposed to bring you to this page, but by all means click on the The OVO Forum logo at the top to go to the homepage, where you can view all the questions and conversations ongoing, they cover a load of different energy based questions, plus some more fun topics that may not be energy related.

We've tried to ensure there is a topic for everyone.

We will check into the issues you had and keep you updated. Let us know how you get on, having a look around the forum.

Afternoon all

When I see the error message about "not being authorised to view the page" it just means I am not signed in. Signing into the forum rectifys the problem.
Hope this helps

Today, the email brought me straight here but I had to sign in to make this reply. So that's sorted.

Yesterday, I sent customer services a question about energy saving bulbs on an email. Will they send me a reply via email or post the reply on here (or even both)?

Hi Yorick,

It's good to hear your login query is now sorted. As for that email, I can see this was sent to our forum inbox - I've just sent off my reply to this now!

Love the idea of badges. Also want to visit and slide down that slide, however can I have coffee instead of tea please. If I must have tea I prefer black with one sugar. xxxx

Pop round to our Bristol office, Smiter, try out the slide and we might throw in a coffee as well!

All in a days work,

Sounds like a plan but from here to Bristol isn't exactly popping in distance. lol.

Why don't you make a day of it?! We have some amazing sights in Bristol such as Clifton Suspension Bridge, The SS Great Britain and Blaise Castle! We're biased but we think the OVO office is also up there with the top sights....

I get the same message and it's because when you click the link in the email it doesn't use any saved sign in details an asks you to sign in again - it then takes you to the page 🙂

This should be resolved now, we did spot a bit of an issue but it should now be fixed.

Let us know if the problem continues.
