Osshh, great question, Cal. For me, it would have to be Nocturnal Animals. The performances by Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal and Aaron Taylor-Johnson were superb, and as it was directed by Tom Ford, it was bound to be a whirlwind cinematic experience!

So that's the last 12 months covered. What's your favorite movie of all time? Lets compare!

Hey guys,

A couple of great suggestions there, I have to admit I haven't seen either of them, so they are both definitely on my list now.

For me, I have so many favourites across lots of different genres, but if I had to pull out one, I think Little Miss Sunshine is fantastic. It has an amazing balance of black comedy, drama and features intense, brilliant performances from quirky cast. 🙂

Oooo thats a tough one!

A favourite of mine has to be 'What Maisie knew."

It is a wonderful story about a little girl who is caught up in the separation of her parents, but is a really lovely story

I've never seen it but just had a look at the synopsis on Google and it sounds like my kind of movie. I love anything that has powerful emotions in it, especially ones that can make me cry! Going to have to check this one out - thanks for the recommendation, Emma_G.

Hi Lucy,

My sister suggested it to me (more so because Alexander Skarsgard is in it!) and I loved it from start to finish.

I hope you enjoy it!

@Darran_OVO Yeah! I saw The Lost City of Z and it was INCREDIBLE! It's about the story of British explorer Percy Fawcett and his journey into the Amazon in the early 20th century. Its a great film so highly recommend it.

Has anyone else seen this?

@Lucy_OVO, how funny your latest film involved travel! Lol.

Sounds like a good one though, I bet @Emma_G would like that one.

Anyone else got any good recommendations?

Sounds like a good one Lucy!

The last film I watched that wasnt for one of the kids was Hacksaw Ridge about a US soldier who joined the military and went to war but refused to touch a weapon let alone fire one. He wanted to be a medic and saved numerous lives.
Was an incredible film!

Nice tagging there, @Emma_G, and that movie recommendation is already on my 'to watch' list! At the top of this list is Julian Barratt's 'Mindhorn' film. He was in Bristol for a showing of the film with a Q&A at the end. I couldn't go, but apparently it was hilarious!

Did you manage to watch these? Split is definitely a top movie for me! I couldn't possibly pick my all time favourite movie though 😑

Hi @Mattj3135

I haven't yet, but they are still on my list. With 2 small children in the house, movie watching time is limited (unless its Disney!!).

I've heard of Split, but not seen it. That'll be another one to add to the list!

Hope you had a great bank holiday. Thanks for all the comments and support you've been lending out to other users!!

Ah yes - split definitely is not for young eyes! Two little ones - damn you must be kept on your toes.

Thanks Darran, my pleasure! Hope you had a lovely bank holiday too (despite how quick it went)

Yes they definitely keep us busy @Mattj3135.

We just watched A Million ways to die in the west....brilliant. We needed some comedy tonight and it didn't disappoint!

Had a great weekend in Devon! But yes went far too quickly!

So watched Stranger than fiction last night. Its from 2009 starring Will Ferrell and Emma Thompson. It was brilliant, highly recommend it. Anyone else watch anything good over the weekend?

Still have those other movies to watch, they are not listed on our movie subscription so will have to find them online to watch. I will find a way!

Darran
@Mattj3135 If you're interested in learning about the impact of animal agriculture on the environment, I'd recommend giving Cowspiracy a watch on Netflix. It's an eye opener, that's for sure!
